Can I Install the Thermostat Inside the Shower?

The thermostat cannot be installed in the shower and here's why.

What is causing my thermostat to keep tripping requiring that I press the reset button?

One reason why your thermostat keeps tripping could be that you have GFI on the thermostat and the breaker simultaneously.  Click "Read More" for details.

How can I turn my system on or off completely?

You can turn your 3iE on or off using the button next to the GFCI tab at the bottom. Under your thermostat you will find a flat tab indicating the GFCI status of your thermostat. Next to that tab there is a small button. Hold it for 5-6 seconds to turn it on or off.

What does it mean if my thermostat reads “heater error” on the display?

Heater error will occur if the heating system is not properly wired to the thermostat. Please click "Read More" for details.

What does it mean if my thermostat reads “overload” on this display?

The overload message will occur if more than 15 AMPS has been connected to the thermostat. Click "Read More" for details.

What does it mean if my thermostat reads error message “ER1” on the display?

The ER1 message will occur if no floor sensor is connected to the thermostat. Click "Read More" for details. 

What does it mean if my thermostat reads error message “ER2” on the display?

The ER2 message will occur if the floor sensor has a short circuit or has a loose connection. Click "read More" for details.

What does it mean if my thermostat reads “Ground Fault Error” on the display?

This message will occur if a ground fault is detected. Click "Read More" for details.

What does it mean if my thermostat screen is black and will not turn on?

If your thermostat has no display and will not turn on when power button is pushed, the thermostat could be wired incorrectly. Click "Read More" for details.

Why is my floor not reaching target temperature?

If your heating system was installed on a concrete slab or over an unheated space and insulation boards were not used, it is possible that the heat loss into the subfloor will cause your floors to heat up more slowly and possibly not reach the target temperature. Click "Read More" for details.

Why is my floor not heating but there are no error messages?

If your floor is not heating, you should contact your electrician to do proper troubleshooting. Click "Read More" for details. 

Is it normal if my thermostat makes a clicking noise?

It is normal for the thermostat to make clicking noises. Click "Read More" for details.

Why does my thermostat trip every time it reaches the same temperature?

The thermostat tripping at the same temperature point could indicate that your system was cut during the time of installation. Click "Read More" for details.

How do I turn on my system?

To turn on your system once your thermostat has been installed, simply turn on the breaker. The thermostat screen will light up. After setting the basic parameters of the thermostat, select a steady temperature in manual mode for your first heating period to ensure the product heats up. Refer to the respective programming manuals. Click "Read More" for details.

What if my thermostat says system is on however the floor is not heating up?

If you installed your thermostat over 3 years ago and it seems to be functioning the same, however your floor is no longer heating up, call your electrician. Click "Read More" for details.

Master/Relay (relay reading ER1)

When setting up a large installation and connecting two or more thermostats as Master and Relays, all devices MUST have a floor sensor hooked up. Click "Read More" for details. 

What if my Sensor probe reading higher or lower than actual temperature?

If the sensor probe is placed too close to the wire, it will read higher temperatures than you will actually feel on the floor. Click "Read More" for details.

Why can’t I program my thermostat to read air temperature?

If you have set the floor type to any kind of floating floor, a safety feature in the thermostat will not allow you to increase the target temperature any higher than 81 degrees. Click "Read More" for details. 

When my screen goes dark, will my floor continue to heat?

When I push the test monthly button on my thermostat, the screen goes red and tells me to call Warmup. Should I be worried?

Why is my floor temperature reading incorrect?

If your floor probe is giving you a reading that is much higher or lower than the actual temperature of the floor, it is possible that your installer put the sensor probe and cold tail lead in the same conduit. Click "Read More" for details.

What does it mean if my thermostat reads "ER 1 Out” on the display?

It indicates that the thermostat is not set up correctly. Click "Read More" for details.

Does the 3iE have a battery backup?

What does it mean if my thermostat reads “output fault detected” on the display?

This can mean many things. The best thing to do would be to follow the instructions on the unit and call the Warmup technical department. 888-927-6333
