What does the LTC Dip Switch mean on the DS8
The LTC (Low Temperature Cutoff), which is Dip Switch 4, is used when melting from your snow melt system cannot be maintained at very low temperatures. When in the ON position, your system will not turn on if temperatures reach or drop below 5°F. If your system is currently on and senses the temperature drop to 5°F, your system will delay off and only resume operation when temperatures rise to 9°F. This is referred to as RECOVER mode.
*Care should be exercised in using this mode as the potential exists for ice to be formed on the melting surface.
Please refer to the instruction manual for further instructions on installing and programming your DS8 controller.
