Can I use area rugs with underfloor heating?

StickyMat System – DWM

Avoid placing thick mats, rugs and floor level furniture on your heated floor, specifically in the area where the sensor probe is located.

Mats, rugs, and level furniture restrict the transfer of heat away from the cables and result in the floor area beneath them being warmer than other areas. A thin area rug with no rubber backing is acceptable but be mindful that anything too thick can keep heat from radiating upwards.

Rubber backing is NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. Avoid using wool rugs.
