Can I Cut the Electric Floor Heating System Wire if I Have too Much?

Can I cut my floor heating mat if it’s too large?


Instead, try pulling the cable off the mesh and spacing the cable every 2 or 2.5 inches apart. Consult your installation manual with further questions regarding where the cable or mat can be run.

Why does my heater have a ground wire but the thermostat has no terminal for ground?


The ground wire of the heater(s) must be directly connected to the ground wire of the supply.

What is the EMF level of Warmup cables?


Our cable was tested and measured 0.5 mG at 1/2” (a typical distance between the cable and your feet). This measures at 1/200th of the acceptable value of 100 mG as established by the WHO and Intertek/ETL. It therefore complies with EN50366.

Should I use a 120V or 240V electric floor heating system?


Both 120Vac and 240Vac Warmup heating cable(s) output the same amount of power (wattage) per square foot (13.1 watts), so, the only difference between 120Vac and 240Vac heating cable(s) is the amount (ft2) of heating cable you can attach to one 15A thermostat.
